Award-winning Virginia Wines
Highest Quality, Year After Year
Excellence in Winemaking
We are proud to be an award-winning Virginia vineyard, including receiving the Virginia Governor’s Gold Medal Award for select wines and being rated as the top winery in Central Virginia by Tripadvisor reviewers.
We have most recently been recognized by VinePair as one of The 30 Best Rosés of 2025 and were named the People’s Choice winner at the Norton Challenge Cup held at the Omni Homestead Resort for our 2021 Norton. We won the Inaugural Norton Challenge Cup in 2022 for our 2017 Norton. You can read about the challenge here.
See below for our list of recent awards or visit our In the News page to read articles featuring DuCard Vineyards. You can view our Google, Yelp, and Trip Advisor reviews via the links on our Reviews page.
We are honored to receive awards from independent wine competitions and recognition from bloggers and other media members unaffiliated with us, we do not pay for wine scores or reviews by third party companies.
Please note: we only include Gold Medals and ‘top tier’ accolades here – for us, Silver and Bronze and just generally ‘recommended’ don’t mean that much to us given the high standards we have.
We have also been honored to represent the industry in several national tastings, with really great and fun results:
Virginia Wine Summit, bringing together numerous top wine writers to learn, successfully about us little ol’ Virginia winemakers. Our 2010 Petit Verdot represented the Commonwealth. Read about it here.
Judgment of Virginia , recreating the famous Judgment of Paris blind tasting of France vs. California 25 years ago, when California’s victories put it on the international wine map, as made famous by the movie Bottle Shock. This time it was Virginia as the new upstart grape farming region, vs. France and the rest of the world, Our 2010 Signature Viognier represented Virginia, pretty darn well PS. Read Scott’s firsthand account here.
