Vertical Tasting
Saturday, January 14 2 PM: Cabernet Franc Vertical Tasting. We'll be pouring vintages from our library - 2009 to present - tasting and talking about the effects of that season's weather, vineyard practices and winemaking techinques on the finished wine. This is a really fun event that we do only about once a year. Nibbles accompany the tasting and the small remaining stock of these wines will be available for sale. Limited seating, advance reservations required using this form. $39 per person (Wine Club member discount applies).

Author, Author !!
Sunday, January 15 2 PM: Our friend and fun local author Tony Vanderwarker will be here to talk about his new book "I'm not from the South but I got down here as fast as I could." Filled with fabulous vignettes about life here in the Piedmont, Tony will also have autographed copies available. No charge, plus complimentary glass of wine to everyone who RSVPs in advance (email with name and how many in your party to marty@ducardvineyards.com).

Painting and Wine
Saturday, January 21 2 PM: Paint your own masterpiece, while sipping DuCard wine. The nice folks at Creative Mankind will lead this program and supply materials and expertise. Murder at the Vineyard
Saturday, March 25 6:30 PM: It's a Murder Mystery dinner and show at DuCard Vineyards! Can you solve the who-done-it mystery in the vineyard? Come enjoy dinner (catered by Main Street Bakery and Catering) and the show by Clever by Half Productions and see if you can sleuth your way to the answer better than Sherlock or your dinnermates. $79 per person, plus tax and service charge (includes show, dinner, wine; Wine Club Members get 15% discount). Easter Egg Hunt and More
Saturday, April 15 12-5 PM: What would Easter be without an Easter Egg hunt? Or maybe a visit by the Easter Bunny? We’ll have that and more along with live music by 2 Wishes who will play a mix of jazz, oldies, and originals to entertain both young and old on the patio. You’ll be sure to find treats both inside and out, but just don’t get any egg on your face! This family event is guaranteed to be fun for all ages, so come join us for fun in the vineyard! Saturday, April 22 12-5 PM: Oh yeah! Premium steamed and raw oysters and delicious crabcakes provided by the Rappahannock River Oyster Company will get your mouth watering just enough to enjoy a nice bottle of DuCard wine to wash it all down with! Saturday, May 27 12-5 PM: Kick off Memorial Day Weekend with a pig roast and some great music on the patio with the hot licks of country, bluegrass, oldies, and rock & roll of the Bennie Dodd Band. Pig & Steak will roast the pig and will serve a platter of roast pork all the fixins for your holiday celebration! Stonewall Jackson’s 2nd Corps: March on DuCard
Saturday, August 5 1-6 PM (march at 2 PM sharp): For all you Civil War buffs and wine lovers- we again commemorate the sesquicentennial of the Civil War with the final appearance our 2nd Corps wine. Come see re-enactors from Stonewall Jackson's 2nd Corps brigade march through the vineyards, drill, interact, camp, and demand their wine! Also appearing will be members of Living History. Wine and Chocolate Pairing Program
Saturday, August 12 2 PM: We are excited to welcome back Lindt's Master Chocolatier Ann Czaja to DuCard for a special Lindt Chocolate and Wine Program. We will meet in our new events room, at farm tables overlooking mountains and vines, and sample a flight of Lindt's premium Excellence line of chocolates. Each gourmet chocolate will be paired with a DuCard wine that best complements it. We are delighted that Ann is coming to DuCard specifically for this program. She will share with us the history of chocolate, talk about her work in making Lindt's fine chocolates and offer some samples of 'raw' chocolate for us to try. Sunday, December 3, 2 sessions - 12 and 3 pm: Again with the cheese ... this is a great program, having sold out four times now. So we're offering it one more time this year. The Hobby Hill Farm team will be teaching / demonstrating three cheeses this time, a DuCard C'est Trop port cheese, chocolate coffee cheese (is that even legal?) and a savory pecan cheese. Super fun, sipping some DuCard wine alongside (all current releases available for purchase by the glass or bottle - including several that actually go great with ... cheese). Hobby Hill snacks included. Limited seating, advance reservations. Reservation form here.

Wine Club Special Event
Sunday, December 10 2-4 PM: For Wine Club Members Only. Come meet the owner and winemaker at DuCard and discuss what is happening at the winery, taste the latest DuCard wines, nosh on tasty hors d’ouvres, enjoy special music by violinist Kristi Monte, and mix and mingle with other Wine Club members. No fee, but reservations required as space is limited.
