Vertical Tasting
Saturday, January 13 2 PM: Popham Run Red Vertical Tasting. We'll be pouring vintages from our library - 2005 to present - tasting and talking about the effects of that season's weather, vineyard practices and winemaking techinques on the finished wine. This is a really fun event that we do only about once a year. Nibbles accompany the tasting and the small remaining stock of these wines will be available for sale. Limited seating, advance reservations required using this form. $49 per person (Wine Club member discount applies).

Sunday, January 14 2-5 PM: Jessica Weaver & Silver Linings will be in the house. Blending a bit of both old and new country music, this Nashville recording artist will treat us to some down home country melodies. Check her out on FB: https://m.facebook.com/JessicaWeaverVa/ No cover.).

Sunday, January 21 3 PM: Our friend and fun local author Tony Vanderwarker will be back to talk about writing, publishing, being mentored by John Grisham and the series of his fun and engaging recent novels, including his latest "I'm not from the South but I got down here as fast as I could." Filled with fabulous vignettes about life here in the Piedmont, Tony will also have autographed copies available (other books too). Saturday, January 27 2-5 PM: Pat Anderson will be joining us. – an Oklahoma-born, Virginia-raised singer-songwriter (http://www.patandersonmusic.com). He’s a roots rocker with a strong affinity for Dylan, Springsteen, and Petty and possessed of the tough-minded country-rock sensibility of Todd Snider as well. Pat has spent a number of years honing his skills in Nashville, TN and we are thrilled to have him share his talents with us here at DuCard Vineyards. No cover.

Saturday, February 3 2-5 PM: Classically trained Addison Liming joins us for an afternoon full of finger-pickin’ guitar work and melodies from a wide variety of genres and decades (https://addisonlimingmusic.com/home). Blended with some of her own music, she is guaranteed to please most any guest. Come out and enjoy the fire, a glass of wine, and this talented artist on a chilly day- it’ll be sure to warm the soul. Cheesemaking Class
Saturday, February 10 2 PM: Now here’s a fun Valentine’s activity! What goes better with wine than cheese? Hobby Hill Farm owner Sharon Munyak will teach us all how to make fresh Brie cheese from scratch (https://hobbyhillfarmfresh.com/blog/classes/)! Easter Egg Hunt and More
Saturday, March 31 12-5 PM: What would Easter be without an Easter Egg hunt? Or maybe a visit by the Easter Bunny? We’ll have that and more along with live music by the acoustic duo Haze & Dacey Haze & Dacey as they play a variety of folk, alt-country, roots-rock, country-blues, and a hint of jazz and swing (http://www.hazyshadeproductions.com/duo). You’ll be sure to find treats both inside and out, but just don’t get any egg on your face! Speaking of treats- we’ll have lots of goodies for sale to eat by Sweet Treats so save some room for that! Shenandoah Wine - New Vintage Release Party
Saturday, April 7 11-6 PM: As Spring starts to peek through we find ourselves itching to get out and enjoy it. What better way to do it than to check out the Shenandoah National Park and then visit us for our release of the latest vintage of the namesake wine, Shenandoah. We'll have live music by Jason Burke (www.jasonburkemusic.com) whose music is inspired by American and British rock, folk, and California country from 2 to 5pm to entertain you as well. No cover.

The Lost Vineyard in Shenandoah National Park
Sunday, April 8 2 PM: Come hear Carole Nash, Ph.D. from JMU discuss the rediscovery of Marcus Buck’s Belmont Vineyard, a 19th century vineyard and winery with origins in the late 1840s. Find out what varieties of grapes were grown, farming practices, physical remains, and stories were rediscovered about this interesting lost vineyard and what it means for our understanding of things today. Music on the Patio with Annie Stokes
Saturday, April 14 2-5 PM: Join us for live music on the patio with Annie Stokes who hails from the NoVa/Shenandoah Valley Area (http://www.anniestokesmusic.com/). Annie is talented not only with guitar and vocals but also with the ukulele and mandolin, and will entertain you with classic rock, country, bluegrass, and acoustic renditions of popular songs along with originals. Spring Oyster Festival
Saturday, April 21, 12-5 PM: Oh yeah! Our Spring Oyster Fest is back! Nomini Bay Oyster Farm (http://nboysters.com/about-us/) will be providing the freshest and most delicious oysters from the Northern Neck: raw, steamed, grilled, and grilled with toppings. We’ll also be offering fresh grilled crab cakes. Throw in some awesome hot licks of country, bluegrass, oldies, and rock & roll of the Bennie Dodd Band and some beautiful mountain and vineyard views, and you have a day made in heaven! So grab a bottle of wine, some fine oysters, find a seat, and enjoy a great afternoon at DuCard. Admission tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the gate (food and wine not included). Saturday, May 5 6:30 PM: Join us at DuCard for the Run for the Roses (get it ... Rose wine ... can't find that accent mark though). We'll broadcast the race live and have some fun and games too. Second Saturday Concert and Mother's Day Weekend Plant Sale
Saturday, May 12 12-9 PM: Join us with Mom for Music on the Patio from 6 to 9pm with Scuffletown as we kick off our Second Saturday Concert Series. Come meet the owner and winemaker at DuCard and discuss what is happening at the winery, taste the latest DuCard wines, nosh on tasty hors d’ouvres, special music by violinist Greg Childress, and mix and mingle with other wine club members. No fee, but reservations required as space is limited.

Second Saturday Concert Series
Saturday, June 9 12-9 PM: This month’s Second Saturday concert (6-9pm) will feature the awesome classic and acoustic rock and pop music of the Local Vocals (http://www.localvocalstrio.com). Gold Medal Wine Dinner
Saturday, June 16 6:30 PM: We'll feature our Gold Medal winning 2016 Signature Viognier and 2014 Petit Verdot tonight in a special dinner event. A variety of small gourmet plates will accompany the wines and our winemaker Julien will talk about the wines, our winegrowing process and philosphy, and probably complain about the weather (which is our right in Virginia !) Dog Days of Summer with music by Grass Fed
Saturday, June 23 12-6 PM: Come on out and support the Madison County Animal Shelter with this great fundraiser! Bring your pooch to participate in some fun contests including best costume, Frisbee catch, and agility! Lovable pets will be available for adoption. Live music by Grass Fed (2-5pm) a local acoustic duo (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xSG9mH0aFcI) as they treat us to their blend of old rock n roll, reggae with a little folk and a little groove.
